Packing List

for your alberta hunt

What You Need To Bring For Your Mule Deer Hunt With Primitive Outfitting in Alberta, Canada

OPTICS

  • Spotting Scope (the best you can buy or borrow!)

CLOTHING

It can get chilly in the mornings in Alberta. Temps can vary from 20 F to 60, so plan accordingly. Mornings are strictly glassing and bedding bucks. We don’t start a stalk until the buck is bedded for the day. Warm clothes for the mornings are key.

  • Puffy Jacket and Pants

  • Layers Top/ Bottom

  • Insulated Boots

  • Good Cap & Gloves

  • Heat Packs are Advisable

  • Day Pack

    • Some things to have: extra snacks, a knife, a small first aid kit, extra gloves, a camera, etc., whatever you like to have in your day pack.

MEALS

We will be eating dinner at a restaurant. I supply your room with breakfast stuff (there is a kitchenette). Lunch will be in the field, which consists of sandwiches, protein bars, chips, etc. If you have any food allergies, let me know.

YOUR HUNT

We have access to freezers. So if/when you tag out, we will quarter up your deer, straps, neck, etc., and freeze it. Same for your cape. Bring a decent size cooler in the 110 ci range.

Your Hunting License

Your tag/lic is what you need at customs to get your deer through. I will have your tag/lic when you arrive. I will need your full name, address, DOB, cell #, and drivers lic # to pre-purchase your lic/tags.

TRAVEL

You will need a passport and vaccine proof to get through the border. You need to download the ArriveCan app and fill it out prior to arriving in Canada. It will be there that you upload your vaccine paperwork and passport.

LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AND CHASING SOME DESERT MULIES!
